No team in the entire NFL is hotter than the San Francisco 49ers right now.

They’ve won eight straight and their defense continues to be the best in the league and a frightening challenge to opponents across the country.

Moreover, their offense has improved a lot since the first half of the season.

On Monday, San Francisco travels south to take on the Las Vegas Raiders, their former Bay Area rival, and on paper it looks like the 49ers can pull off a win.

The Raiders are 6-9 and close to wrapping up a frustrating and embarrassing season that has seen them lose many close games and lose many late leads.

But they have talent and the Niners need to bring their A-game to secure victory.

Luckily, that’s a very reasonable expectation, and therefore these two bold predictions might not be so bold after all.

Derek Carr will throw at least one interception

Carr, the Raiders’ starting quarterback, has had at least one interception in each of his last five games, and in three of them he’s thrown at least two picks.

San Francisco has forced the fourth most interceptions in the NFL, and just a few weeks ago they forced Tom Brady of all people to two interceptions.

With defensive end Nick Bosa, who appears to be the front-runner for the Defensive Player of the Year award, closing in on Carr, life won’t be easy for him on Sunday.

The 49ers will win

For some reason, the Raiders’ solid talent, which includes star receiver Davante Adams and running back Josh Jacobs, who are both Pro Bowlers this year, hasn’t gelled.

The Niners, on the other hand, appear to be a focused and united team that has put enough aside individual goals and egos to play well and overcome adversity.

One way or another, San Francisco will likely leave Nevada with another win.
