Those arrested are Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus, 28, and Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus, 31.
The suspects were detained in New Britain and taken to Bristol Police Department.
The couple face a host of charges, including manslaughter, according to Bristol Police.
They were charged with first degree manslaughter, intentional cruelty to persons, first degree unlawful duress, risk of injury to a minor and conspiracy to commit risk of injury to a minor.
Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus also faces an additional charge for making a false statement to police.
Bristol Police say the duo have been charged following an inquest into the June death of a 4-year-old girl.
However, they did not elaborate further. They said they were not releasing the victim girl’s identity.
Ashley and Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus are listed as residing at the same address in New Britain. WFSB reports that they are a married couple.
However, the authorities did not specify the relationship between the suspects and the child killed.
Although they were released on $250,000 in cash and bond, they are due in court on Wednesday, December 28.

Rocky Hernandez-DeJesus, 31, and Ashley Hernandez-DeJesus, 28, of East Street, New Britain, are currently in custody.

“The events leading to the death are believed to have occurred in Bristol,” Lund said.
