Boater rescued, another still missing after falling into Lake Michigan – NBC Chicago

One person is in critical condition and Chicago police are still searching for another after they apparently fell from a boat on Lake Michigan on Wednesday night.

Police say the two men were among a group of individuals on a boat near the Jardine water filtration plant when they finally fell into the water just before 7 p.m.

Authorities say one of the individuals was found unconscious in the water by rescuers from the CPD Marine Unit and was taken ashore. The individual was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

A search is still ongoing for a second individual who fell in the water, according to a police update.

No other information was immediately available and an investigation is still ongoing.
