Timothée and Taylor Russell, who plays the anti-heroine Maren, were among the actors who descended the steps of the theater’s mezzanine to greet the enthusiastic audience of the orchestra, according to reports.

Bones And All features Timothy as the disenfranchised drifter Lee, who falls in love with the cannibal Maren and they become a starving couple on the run.

The film reunited Timothée with its director Luca from Call Me By Your Name and production was well underway in Kentucky and Ohio after the Armie Hammer cannibal scandal broke in January 2021.

In the teaser, Lee asks Maren, “Don’t you think I’m a bad person?” Maren replies, “All I can think about is that I love you.”

The coming-of-age horror movie is set in the ’80s as Lee’s Chevy truck with Indiana plates has 1984 Reagan/Bush bumper stickers and one that says, “My wife , yes”. My dog, maybe. My weapon, never.

The mysterious trailer – filled with screaming women – only shows a glimpse of Maren with blood on her face as she crouched in a bathroom.

There are also flashes of the couple running through a hospital, a scared shirtless man in overalls running, and Lee looking startled behind the wheel.

“They meet and reunite on a thousand-mile odyssey that takes them through the back roads, hidden passages, and trapdoors of Ronald Reagan’s America,” the synopsis reads.

“But despite their best efforts, all paths lead back to their terrifying past and a final battle that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.”

Bones and All – in US theaters November 23 – is based on Camille DeAngelis’ 2015 novel and stars Mark Rylance, Chloë Sevigny, David Gordon Green and Francesca Scorsese.
