fashion house CHIEF presented its Fall Winter 2022.23 collection, which brings a fresh take on the power suit, at a star-studded fashion event on Thursday, September 22, during the ongoing Milan Fashion Week. The collection titled Soft powerr reinvents the brand’s iconic pieces for a new generation. The brand uses its tailoring expertise to play with silhouette, fabric and proportions to create various interpretations of the original power suit, from the loosest to the most sculptural. The traditional full canvas suit jacket and leather motorcycle pants are reinterpreted in fluid shapes and with delicate materials. The brand’s signature color palette of black, white and camel is complemented by soft shades of charcoal, cream and brown. This season, strength comes from softness, proving that clothes don’t have to be stiff or protective to make the wearer feel like a BOSS.
Our archives are the beating heart of BOSS and the heritage of the brand. We drew inspiration from some iconic BOSS campaign images from the 90s to explore our power suits from decades past and ask ourselves: how can we capture the empowering vibe of these pieces for a new generation? “The new collection was unveiled in front of a packed house of over 1,000 guests during Milan Fashion Week. The fashion show was followed by an after party at the same location with DJ sets from headliners Honey Dijon and Orazio Rispo. Taking inspiration from the motor sport of motorcycling, the site layout featured caged steel globes, dramatically illuminated by graphic light beams and lasers. This paved the way for riders dressed in custom black BOSS outfits to carve a floor track with motorbikes, before entering the spheres to begin a gravity-defying performance as the backdrop to the fashion show. The result was another stunning moment on social media for the brand, which continues to target a younger, more global demographic as part of the HUGO BOSS Group’s CLAIM 5 growth strategy.
