‘Bridgerton’ actress Simone Ashley ditches her empire-waist dresses for a modern LBD

Simone Ashley has officially traded in her corset and replaced it with… well, absolutely nothing. The actress, who rose to fame this year as the protagonist of Season 2 of Bridgerton, and who waltzed into our hearts in empire waist dresses and opera gloves has fully acquired his own style. She’s proven that color is her best friend, that she loves a good matching ensemble, and now Ashley is showing off her more mature side.

On Wednesday, the actress stepped out in Hollywood for the premiere of Netflix’s most expensive film to date, The Gray Man. It’s unclear why Ashley was on the red carpet, as she doesn’t have a role in the film. Maybe she was supporting another Bridgerton elder, Régé-Jean Page. Or, maybe, she was just there to serve as a look, and she served.

The actress showed up to the event in a very sleek black dress from Mônot Fall 2022, aptly named the bondage maxi dress. The piece features a column skirt that hits Ashley at her ankles, with a cut-out top that does justice to the name of the dress. Ashley then let the silhouette shine in this look, accessorizing simply with black pumps, jewelry by Ana Khouri and a diamond-encrusted Tag Heuer watch.

Mônot has quickly gained cult stardom since its debut in 2019, with models and actresses gravitating around Eli Mizrahi’s skinned creations. There is, however, something a little different about Ashley’s choice. Maybe it was the cropped length that added a bit of sophistication to the whole look, or the period actress’ unexpected wear. Either way, it works, and Ashley’s style streak officially continues.
