Cyprus files complaint for sale of passports


Cyprus has charged four unnamed people with corruption offenses related to a passport-for-sale scheme which it dropped in 2020 after an Al Jazeera abuse investigation report. Cyprus sold 6,779 national (and European) passports between 2007 and 2020, the vast majority of them to Russians, and some of them to people with criminal records.
