Dad Desperately Prays For Son Born Without Heartbeat Until ‘Miracle Baby’ Comes Home For Christmas

A couple got their Christmas miracle after their baby boy, born without a heartbeat, was resurrected and given a chance to live. Although stillborn, the baby boy is now in the comfort of his own home with the rest of his family after a miracle saw his heart pound after minutes.

After years of praying for another child, a couple finally got their miracle when they got pregnant. The ordeal was surreal for DeAnna and Lee Mork, who had been praying and yearning for another child for nearly a decade.

The couple share a daughter named Abby, whom they welcomed in 2011. After Abby was born, they went through five years of fertility treatments and tried every possible way to get pregnant again.

A miracle pregnancy

Despite their best efforts, they weren’t able to get pregnant – until daylight. “I didn’t believe it at first,” DeAnna said. “It was so out of the blue.”

Pregnant with their miracle child, DeAnna religiously had all her routine exams and ultrasounds. They all showed that their baby was normal and healthy, and they even found out the gender of their little one! They had a boy, and they couldn’t be happier.

But despite all the reassurance that their baby was growing well in his wife’s womb, something worried Lee. Although he couldn’t identify what it was, he sensed that something bad was brewing.

His difficult work experience

At 40 weeks, DeAnna still showed no signs of labor, so she decided to go to the hospital. Her doctors induced her, seeing that their baby was too big and needed to be delivered as soon as possible.

Even before DeAnna was provoked, Lee kept telling his wife that he had a feeling something was going to happen. However, DeAnna continued to assure her husband that everything would be fine.

When she was induced, however, her husband turned out to be right. After four hours of labor, DeAnna was still not dilating despite excruciating pain.

After her blood pressure dropped, doctors decided to do an emergency caesarean to save her and the baby. Through it all, DeAnna wondered if she could ever survive this painful experience and if her baby was okay.

Save mother and child

Lee was just as worried as DeAnna. However, he wasn’t worried about their son Jack at the time because he somehow knew he would be fine – he was worried about DeAnna. “I was very worried that I was about to lose my wife,” he admitted.

As doctors and nurses rushed to save DeAnna and Jack, Lee waited outside the operating room, praying. He cried out to God, praying that his wife and son would survive.

After some time, it was revealed that while DeAnna made it out of surgery, their son Jack didn’t. He was born without a beating heart and was unresponsive.

The miraculous rebirth of Jack

Unwilling to give up, doctors rushed Jack to a neonatal intensive care unit at a nearby hospital in an attempt to save him. DeAnna only had to rub the back of her son’s tiny hand before they quickly led him away.

Lee also wanted to say goodbye to his son, so he walked into the room. He called out his son’s name, and he remembered the little boy turning to look at him. “I knew he would do well there,” he said of the encounter.

Doctors did everything they could at the nearby hospital to try and save Jack. However, they asked DeAnna and Lee not to hope.

The truth of his survival

Even if Jack could survive, doctors said he could grow up with brain damage, cerebral palsy, or developmental issues. At two weeks, Jack was breathing, but he was unresponsive and not eating.

At that time, DeAnna was concerned about the kind of life her son was going to live. Meanwhile, for Lee, it was a test of faith.

Through it all, DeAnna and Lee continued to pray for God to heal their son. After spending Thanksgiving in the hospital, the couple hoped to be able to bring their son home before Christmas.

Hoping for a Christmas comeback

While Jack improved, the doctors wanted to make sure they fixed any issues before he was discharged. However, on Christmas Eve, they decided it was finally time for Jack to go home.

The overwhelmed parents shared their unexpected gift on social media for friends and family to see. They said:

“We had our Christmas miracle!!!! God is so good!!! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us in praying for Jack to be home before Christmas.”

A true miracle baby

In their post, DeAnna and Lee also wrote about how surprised doctors were at the amount of development Jack did in the days leading up to Christmas. In fact, after meeting with Jack’s neurologist, he shared that Jack was hitting all the developmental milestones for his age.

DeAnna and Lee, in their faithfulness, had a real miracle baby. With their little one at home with them, it would be hard for anyone to believe that he was resurrected at birth and has been dead for 23 minutes, because he is now a happy, healthy and strong baby boy!

Jack knows the miraculous story of his birth and says, “Jesus healed me! DeAnna thanks God for intervening in her birth story, as she believes that without him, she and Jack might not be on Earth anymore.
