Did Meghan Markle secretly hint at her WME deal earlier this week?

Earlier this week, Meghan Markle stepped out with husband Prince Harry for a date at the Lakers game in Los Angeles. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex looked pretty in pink in a short Staud ensemble. Just two days later Variety announced that she had signed on for the performance with talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME).

As WME wrote on Instagram, “We are honored to announce that WME now represents Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in all matters. The agency will focus on growing her business ventures across multiple facets of the agency and its broader ecosystem, including film and television production, brand partnerships and more.”

His team at WME will include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Brad Slater and Serena Williams’ agent Jill Smoller.

Including Jill Smoller in Meghan’s team makes sense, as Meghan has long been friends with Smoller through Serena Williams. Smoller worked with Williams for decades and later became friends with Meghan. she was even present at Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding in 2018 and was featured in their Netflix documentary Meghan and Harry.

Still, thinking of Emanuel, could Meghan’s outfit earlier this week be a clue to her WME news hit?

For context: Emanuel is married to designer Sarah Staudinger, founder of the Staud brand. The Lakers game earlier this week was the first time (as far as we know) the Duchess of Sussex wore Staud – perhaps a nod to her new agent’s wife?

Whether or not the outfit is an Easter egg for the news, Meghan and Harry’s appearance was notable in the run-up to King Charles’ coronation – Harry will be present without Meghan and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
