Dolly Parton has been making headlines lately since news of the sale of her longtime Nashville home broke on the internet. Not surprisingly, as the property had been on the market for over a decade. Here are the details.

After spending 12 years on the market, American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton’s longtime home in Nashville, Tennessee has finally found new owners.

The two-bathroom, four-bedroom property, which the show business icon shared with her husband, Carl Dean, has sold for a whopping $849,000.

Parton originally bought the mansion in 1980 for $50,000, which is about $190,400 in today’s dollars. Then, in 1996, after owning the property for 16 years, the Grammy-winning singer sold the house.

Parton received $140,000 for the property at the time, which equates to an approximate appraisal of $269,000 today. From 2010 until its sale, the property was listed by the owners.

Finally, after multiple price declines and cycles of inflation, the home left the market for its new owners on December 22, 2021. The Nashville home spans over 4,795 square feet and sits beautifully on 2, 4 acres.

The owners had listed the property in 2010 for $359,000. However, it has had a long period without buyers in the competitive housing market.

Fortunately, after many years, the spacious yet traditional home was finally sold in late 2021. Since Parton sold the property, buyers will be the second owners to live in the Nashville home.

Many suggest that the outdated nature and structure of the house could be the main cause for its long wait in the market.

It’s great to see Parton and Dean living a happy life in their dream home, because that’s always been one of their biggest wishes.

The previous listing describes the actress’ longtime home as a unique two-story home, with the upstairs unit being an owner-occupied bed and breakfast named “Dolly’s Getaway.” The house also has an independent studio and an independent guest house. Here are more details about Dolly Parton and her current life.

Since 1999, Parton has lived in the same house in Brentwood, Nashville. The singer’s property, which she bought for $400,000 and shared with her husband, Carl Dean, is a world away from her childhood home.

But she wants to give it a traditional touch with rustic and wooden finishes. The “Islands In the Stream” singer’s home is filled with glitter from ceiling to floor. But contrary to her over-the-top nature when it comes to her looks, Parton chose a more humble abode.

In 2018, she gave many fans a glimpse of her beautiful home when she allowed cameras inside as part of the first episode of her friend and actress Reese Witherspoon’s inspirational series “Shine On.”

The video showed the chic interior of the house. It features a modest kitchen with white wood cabinets and a brown center island with white marble countertops. Additionally, Parton has silver appliances, including a double oven, double refrigerator, and two dishwashers.

Additionally, the actress’ abode also features a music room with a black grand piano. The room is decorated with a patterned green rug, cream walls and ruched floral ties.

In another part of the songwriter’s home is his huge collection of awards. This room is completed by a large painting honoring its 100 million records sold worldwide. It retains the vintage theme of the country singer’s home, with wooden furniture and patterned wallpaper.

Another feature of the elegant abuse is the living room, which has a cream leather armchair and a small mirrored side table that holds a bubble lamp and a butterfly ornament. This room also has a brown sofa with brown and burgundy cushions and a burgundy floral rug.

Then there is the hallway, painted light yellow with a wooden banister. Parton also added a vintage wooden side dresser and a glass candle lantern in the corner.

While the inside of the singer’s house speaks of class and elegance, the features on the outside are also quite exquisite. The 8,100 square foot property is built on 62 acres of land and features a swimming pool, tennis court, gazebos, chapel and farmhouse.

It’s great to see Parton and Dean living a happy life in their dream home, because that’s always been one of their biggest wishes. According to the singer, the property is a calm and welcoming place for her and the special people in her life.

Parton and her husband, Carl Dean, have been married for more than five decades. The lovebirds first crossed paths in 1964 outside their local laundromat in Nashville, the first day Parton moved to the city. At the time, the singer was just 18, while Dean was 21.

They soon began dating and two years later, on May 30, 1966, the couple walked down the aisle, with Parton’s mother as their only guest. Since getting married, Parton and Dean have enjoyed marital bliss. They’ve celebrated several birthdays in various unique ways, but their 50th is one they’ll never forget.

To commemorate the occasion, Parton and Dean decided to marry a second time. The former broke the good news during a 2016 interview with People.

Indeed, the union of the couple is worthy of emulation, but many have questioned their happiness, seeing that they have no children. To prove them wrong, Parton admitted to being satisfied and having no regrets. She once said (via Hello!):

“Now that Carl and I are older, we often say, ‘Aren’t you glad we didn’t have kids? Now we don’t have to worry about kids anymore.'”

Parton and Dean have been married for 56 years, and many can’t help but wonder about the secret to their long-lasting marriage. During a January 2022 interview, Parton confessed that the key is to never let Dean see her looking hungry.

According to the icon, she keeps things spicy by dressing up and looking great for her hubby. All in all, it’s safe to say that Parton’s Secret is quite effective. Hopefully she and Dean stay intact for the rest of their lives.
