Fans slam Kate and William for leaving in a private helicopter for a lavish trip after the Queen’s $30million jubilee

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently flew with their family on a lavish private helicopter vacation. Although they may have planned to freshen up after the recent royal celebration, fans have been critical of their decision.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently on royal leave and away from the palace. The young royal couple flew with their children for a luxurious getaway.

It comes weeks after the Queen’s memorable Platinum Jubilee celebration, which involved a hectic schedule due to intense planning and preparations. Royal fans will recall that the Duke and his Duchess were involved in the event, supporting the Crown and appearing at various locations.

The Cambridges had joined the monarch at Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Color event before attending her service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

As well as showering the 96-year-old with all the support and love of his presence, the royal couple visibly dressed smart and appropriate for the events.

During Trooping the Colour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children joined the Queen on the balcony. William’s choice of dress was his shiny red uniform, adorned with medals – his gold chain of the Order of the Garter and his green sash of the Order of the Thistle.

Next to him was the future Princess of Wales, clutching her black handbag as she sported a snow-white V-neck dress and matching color fascinator that bowed to one side of her head .

The young royals standing in front of their parents were simply but adorably dressed. Their first son, George, wore a navy blue two-piece suit, tie and white shirt. His sister Charlotte looked cute in a navy doll dress, while Louis, the youngest, was draped in his sailor outfit.

For the ceremony at the church, the Cambridges caused a sensation with their elegance. William wore a classic black suit adorned with royal medals, while his wife looked stunning in her mustard Emilia Wickstead dress, with an x-themed size.

Kate matched her outfit with a yellow hat, gloves and Elizabeth’s earrings. Although the Queen was not present on all the occasions, she wanted to be involved in the planning. A source has confirmed that the monarch wants a small budget for the celebrations.

It was her “express wish” that unnecessary spending be avoided, especially as she considered the economic state of the country where many families were struggling to pay their bills and citizens were unemployed.

Regardless of the king’s wish, the celebration was one of the largest expenditures of the British government. In last year’s budget, $30 million was allocated for what was called “a major celebration for the UK”.

It’s no surprise that after such a hectic schedule, the Cambridges chose to rest up with their children and enjoy a break from a lush journey. But it didn’t escape the eagle eyes of the public.

A while ago, George and his siblings took a break from school to plan the royal engagement and a rumored vacation in the Caribbean. Recently, William, his family and their dog, a black cocker spaniel Orla, left their Kensington residence, and they were later photographed with their bags walking towards a black helicopter.

The family walked through private land adjacent to the Nepalese Embassy, not far from Kensington Palace. Prince Louis looked delighted as he ran towards the helicopter in front of his siblings. Sources have confirmed that they are heading to their luxury destination for a summer vacation.

Rumor has it that the royal couple still wanted to visit the private Caribbean island of Mustique for a summer vacation after their 2019 trip there.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward predicted the Cambridges would spend time on Mustique Island, St Vincent and the Grenadines, where they celebrated George’s sixth birthday.

Although the family did not pack enough boxes for what was perceived to be a long journey, sources said they would likely be stopping over. Mustique Island is an attractive site for wealthy clients. The 14,000 acre island is known for its white sand beaches and an environment that offers optimal privacy.

It was Princess Margaret’s favorite destination. The prestigious reputation of the island makes it a list of famous names. Mick Jagger, Bryan Adams and Tommy Hilfiger are among those who own homes on the property.

For visitors, accommodation is expensive. They have the option of renting one of the luxury villas or a suite or a cottage at “The Cotton House”, the only hotel in Mustique.

Following their recent decision, the couple have come under fire from royal fans who thought their spending was ridiculous, especially at a time like this.

Without mincing words, they expressed their disappointment through comments on social networks. Some felt it was disrespectful to spend such a large sum on a holiday after the $30million spent on the Queen’s Jubilee.

They also argued the royals could have set a better example since William preached about how technological advancements affect climate change (private jet travel increases their carbon footprint). A fan remarked,

“Not good for their carbon footprint.”

Another person wrote: ‘What a slap in the face to anyone who finds this a massive financial struggle, get ’em all out. A third comment read. “I thought they were supposed to be a good example for all of us, unfortunately not.”

Another royal fan’s words were: “Wow!!!…remind me folks, what did these folks do to deserve a private helicopter for the holidays????” A few responses expressed concern that members of the royal family were traveling on one plane. According to the commentator:

“Is it wise for the whole family to be on one helicopter. I’ve always thought two heirs to the throne couldn’t travel together, inconvenient though that may be.”

Indeed, the royal family has an unofficial rule that members of the royal family do not fly in groups. Yet those restrictions have been eased for the younger generation – since William’s children were born – so they can spend more time with family.

Prior to the trip, it was reported that the Queen had spoken to her grandson individually and advised him to stop flying himself, particularly in bad weather. This precautionary measure was intended to keep the line of succession intact in fear of an accident.

Despite the mind-boggling reviews, the couple still received cheers from their loyal fans whose comments were full of warm wishes, positivity, and understanding. One person wrote,

“They are a family with 3 children who need a vacation like a normal family. God bless them.” Another joked: “Have a wonderful holiday with your beautiful children, just enjoy yourselves.”

Despite the short-lived vacation, the royals are still tied to their duties as they have to move to Windsor, the Queen’s primary residence. It is assumed that the family will reside in the Adelaide Cottage on the Castle.

While this means a busy time for the couple, it also offers a major change for their offspring. Their two eldest children, George and Charlotte, will transfer from their preparatory school in London, Thomas’s Battersea, to a new school in the area.

Nevertheless, the family is delighted with the move. This will bring them closer to the elderly monarch and expose them to the beautiful historic city of London.
