Foxborough man killed in pedestrian accident

Locals say the intersection the man was hit at must have a traffic light added.

A Foxborough man died after being hit by a car while driving through town on Saturday morning.

Foxborough Police said in a Facebook post they were called to the intersection of Cocasset and Oak Streets around 10:45 a.m. to a report that a pedestrian had been struck.

When they arrived, they found a man who had been hit by a car. He was later taken to a Boston hospital by Foxborough Fire Department.

“We have been advised that unfortunately, even after tremendous efforts by firefighters and hospital staff, the gentleman succumbed to his injuries,” Foxborough Police wrote on Facebook.

The victim was a resident of Foxborough and his name has not been released while his family is notified of his death, police said.

The driver involved in the crash was a 35-year-old Foxborough resident. They remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

On Facebook, several residents commented urging police to install a traffic light at the intersection of Cocasset and Oak streets.

The accident is still under investigation by state and local police.
