In the late ’90s, the TV actress underwent gastric bypass surgery, which resulted in an 80-pound weight loss. Speaking to People, Barr shared that she had a “huge overhang” after the operation and had to undergo a tummy tuck. She relayed:

“I had my entire digestive system removed, so I should look slimmer!”

Barr made more modifications to her body, as she mentioned working on her nose. She said her nose was round, but her surgeon “shrinked it down”. Barr also underwent breast reduction surgery.

During that 2003 interview with the publication, she admitted to wanting more procedures, but was cautious about her age and how the surgeries might go. In another interview, Barr felt that pinches and folds were okay as long as people felt the need to do them.

In 2006, the star regained weight and once in an interview called herself “fat” but added that she felt fine. In 2014, the “She-Devil” star was back on her weight loss streak.

The comedian was spotted at an NBC event where she didn’t shy away from discussing her weight loss. Barr said she ate well and exercised regularly.

Although she joked about using the “crack” as an alternative weight loss method, Barr claimed she owes it all to “moving more and eating less.”

In June 2014, Barr appeared on Today, where she showcased her new approach to keeping weight gain at bay. The star explained that she had been on a new diet and described it as “radical and revolutionary”. During her interview, Barr didn’t talk about her weight on a scale.

She stressed that she was more in tune with overall health and was willing to stick with the approach that worked. She included for good measure:

Another approach that seems to be contributing to her healthy lifestyle is the slight inclination towards a vegan diet.

Over the years, Barr has been known to be quite critical of going vegan, but it seemed like she didn’t care about a plant-based diet.

This was after she moved to her macadamia nut farm in Hawaii. Speaking about her new lifestyle in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Barr shared:

“I’m a farmer now, and it’s fantastic. My goal is to be completely self-sufficient and grow whatever I eat.”

Nearly two decades after “Roseanne” ended, the show was rebooted in 2018. The comeback was a record success as ABC raked in millions of dollars. However, this feat did not last long.

Months after her show returned to television, Barr found herself embroiled in a racism controversy. She had tweeted attacking Valerie Jarett, who was former President Obama’s senior adviser.

Almost after making the tweet, ABC announced that “Roseanne” had been cancelled. This would have been the consequence of Barr’s action on social media. The production company explained that such misconduct was very frowned upon in the organization.

Following the heartbreaking consequences of his action, Barr deleted the tweet, but the damage was done. She kept a low profile for a while, avoiding the showbiz landscape.

However, fans saw more of the TV star on Instagram. In one of her glamorous posts, the star proved that she has continued to work on her body and her health.

Barr flaunted her trim figure in a figure-hugging dress that accentuated her curves. She let fans know in her caption that she “felt great” and “looked better.”

She left more inspiring looks on her page, and Barr slipped into shapewear in a post. The outfit emphasized her slender limbs and flat stomach. Barr said she owes the frequent weight loss to gardening.

As she continues to look lighter and lithe thanks to the weight loss, Barr’s fans have expressed their concerns.

Some followers thought she was skinny and needed to eat more. However, other admirers gushed about Barr’s slim form and demanded to know the secret.
