I was recently in San Francisco visiting my daughter and we went to the Farmer’s Market at the Marina and had the best time sampling all the flavors. We brought home such sweet strawberries (loved all the samples) and was looking forward to finding a recipe for fresh strawberries. I knew right away that I wanted to make my Strawberry Kiwi Mixed Green Salad with Spicy Nuts recipe to use!

Nothing beats plump, juicy and sweet seasonal strawberries. One of my favorite recipes for the summer is my green salad with strawberries and kiwis from Eat well to fight osteoarthritis recipe book. Seasonal ingredients topped with spiced nuts and a delicious raspberry dijon vinaigrette may sound gourmet, but this easy and healthy recipe is so simple to make!

Green salad with strawberries and kiwis

Makes 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 cups mixed greens (Bibb red leaf, spinach)
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced ​​strawberries
  • 2 peeled and sliced ​​kiwis
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 chopped green onion
  • 1/3 cup raspberry vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • Spiced nuts optional

directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine green vegetables, strawberries and kiwi.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sesame seeds, green onion, vinegar, Dijon mustard and oil. Refrigerate dressing until ready to use.
  3. When ready to toss salad, add dressing gradually, serve immediately.
