In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened gender inequalities everywhere. UN Women led immediate responses and provided long-term solutions. We acted through 88 field offices and partners ranging from government ministries to grassroots groups to international financial institutions.
Building on our long tradition of building alliances, we launched our Generation Equality Campaign, which brought together governments, civil society, youth, businesses and UN organizations, among others, to advance shared goals and an ambitious change agenda.
The 2020-2021 UN Women Highlights illustrate our best results of 2020 showing how UN Women effectively served women and girls around the world, and showcase some of the people who inspired us the most during the year elapsed.
