How did France beat its record for business creations in 2022?

During the first eleven months of 2022, nearly 980,000 new companies were created, according to INSEE. A record despite the economic uncertainties which are essentially based on the dynamics of micro-enterprises which were 600,000 to see in the first eleven months of the year.
Who said that France was not a country of entrepreneurs? According to INSEE, nearly 980,000 new companies were created during the first eleven months of 2022. Despite the current economic uncertainties, the milestone of one million companies created over twelve months will be crossed. A record that is essentially based on the dynamics of micro-enterprises.
600,000 new micro-enterprises in 11 months
INSEE recalled 600,000 new micro-enterprises in 11 months. This is more than half of all company creations. The micro-enterprise particularly appeals to young people, who are sometimes tired of salary constraints. But the increase in these small structures has no impact on overall economic activity. Notably because they are more fragile than traditional companies.
“For example, of the micro-enterprises created in 2014, two-thirds had actually activated an economic activity. Of these two-thirds, half were active three years later. If we look at traditional businesses, those created in 2014, five years later, 60% were still active”, specifies Julien Pouget, head of the business cycle department at INSEE.
And the most dynamic sectors in this area are household services, consulting activities and even information and communication activities.
