The state had to “lead by example”
Problem, for several weeks, due to the war in Ukraine and Russia’s decision to reduce its gas deliveries, the government has asked the French to multiply small gestures to save money. A directive that should also apply to members of the government. In a circular, Elisabeth Borne had asked the State and its administrations to “show the example”. An instruction visibly misunderstood by the ministers.
Asked about this subject at the end of the Council of Ministers, Olivier Véran recognized an error: “You have to be careful with everything. (…) And every time we don’t, you won’t miss us .
