Kathy Griffin married a young man in a surprise wedding years after divorcing her ex for allegedly stealing $72,000

The first man Kathy Griffin committed to spending her forever with allegedly robbed her. But despite the broken trust, the comedian has not given up on love. Luckily, luck smiled on her when she found a much younger lover, whom she married in a surprise wedding ceremony – inside Griffin’s romances.

Kathy Griffin is known for her comedic chops and her ability to turn a scowling face into a happy face in her audience. However, this actress did not hit the jackpot for her first marriage.

In 2006, following her divorce from Matt Moline, her husband of nearly five years, the TV star admitted their marriage was plagued with dishonesty.

During an interview with Larry King on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” Griffin shocked the audience when she mentioned that her ex-husband often takes her ATM cards without telling her.

According to the comedian, Moline would sneak into her wallet while she slept. It was not a one-time program, as it happened for over a year. The amount stolen was $72,000.

Once she confronted him, he apologized and took the blame. Then the couple went to therapy to redeem their marriage. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out, so Griffin filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple, who married in 2001, divorced in 2006, and during their time together they had no children. But despite their separation, memories of Moline’s deception lingered in Griffin’s heart.

After the revelation, Moline shared his thoughts, saying he was saddened by the accusations that emerged from his former partner. In his words:

“Since our divorce, I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. It saddens me that she chooses to make such accusations at this time. I have no intention of committing in public debate on private matters.”

Griffin remained honest about how hurtful it was to end her marriage. For her, it was a tragedy, but that did not mean that her life had to take the worst turn. Instead, she used the lemons given to her to make lemonade.

The comedian explained that she turned her unhappy ending into a comedy, making it easier to deal with the injury. In his words:

“Eventually, I end up staging the whole thing. I kind of turn tragedy into comedy, and I think that’s a great way for me to deal with that.”

Despite such a heartbreaking experience, fans will recall that Griffin’s love life has been fascinating over the years and she never stays quiet about her love interests.

Previously, she had a romantic relationship with celebrities like Steve Wozniak and Quentin Tarantino. However, one of her most fascinating romances is with Randy Bick – a non-celebrity.

The comedian called Bick a “regular guy.” Indeed, before meeting Griffin, Bick led a low-key life, working as a marketing manager.

This ordinary guy has become the perfect candidate for a famous TV star. This couple proved that opposites attract! What appears to be an unfailing love affair began very awkwardly, and it’s safe to say that fate brought them together.

They didn’t meet at a star-studded event, nor were they paired up by a mutual friend. The duo met in 2011 at a Los Angeles Times food and wine festival. Griffin revealed that she believed it was an adventure that would barely stand the test of time. Fortunately, she was wrong!

After their first date, Bick wanted to spend more time with her, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. The couple dated for eight years before getting engaged in 2019.

A few hours later (in the new year 2020), they had a surprise wedding at her house. Online uploads showed Hollywood icon Lily Tomlin as the person who presided over the ceremony.

The wedding lasted about fifteen minutes, with Tomlin reading the hilariously sweet vows scripted from a large book. Tomlin’s wife, Jane Wagner, was the couple’s only guest and witness.

Griffin and Bick’s love is not the traditional tale. In addition to having different professions and personalities, the comedian is almost twenty years his senior. Still, they seem like a match made in heaven. At first, Griffin was skeptical of their duration, especially since there was an eighteen-year gap between them. She says:

“Well you know I didn’t think it would last [because] He’s 18 years younger than me!”

They continued to get stronger throughout their time together, proving that age is just a number. Bick lives with his wife and their two rescue dogs in his home.

The couple have no children and in 2016 Griffin, who referred to their large home as a “family home”, joked about their inability to have children, adding that they were happy and content. In his words:

“But since I don’t have kids and I hope I’m sterile, and I don’t think my young boyfriend will be expecting kids anytime soon – because I told him if I had two eggs left , he could have an omelet, but that’s it.”

Griffin’s life with her second husband is full of happy times. At home, the couple know how to spend quality time watching their favorite shows and wearing outfits to match. They also extend the excitement to the streets by taking a walk from time to time.

Recently, the comedian opened up about how their life made headlines in different tabloids. The celeb, who witnessed the cancellation of culture in 2017 following its mockery of then-President Donald Trump, claimed the nicest news house to date was the Daily Mail. She says:

“If I’m photographed by paparazzi walking with my husband, all the other posts will say, ‘She looks old and haggard.’ But the Daily Mail will say: “Comedienne Kathy Griffin goes out for a quiet walk with her young husband.”

The actress, famous for her sharp tongue, sent a heart of gratitude to the Daily Mail. At the same time, she condemned TMZ for its culture-cancelling ritual.
