Kelly Clarkson’s ex left home despite losing offer to evict him – she still pays him almost $200,000 a month

Kelly Clarkson had the “perfect” marriage. Along with her husband and two children, they lived a life of happiness until the coronavirus hit. Quarantining together seemed to magnify their marital issues, which then led to a nasty divorce. Now the singer is looking for love.

Kelly Clarkson rose to fame after winning the first season of “American Idol” in 2002. She then released her debut single, “A Moment Like This”, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became the top-selling single of the country in 2002.

Over the years, she has made a name for herself as a singer, songwriter, actress, author and television personality. Another title she wears proudly is mother to her beautiful children, which she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson and Blackstock, a Nashville-based talent manager, started dating in 2011 and got engaged a year later. Their biggest milestone came a year later, when they tied the knot in a low-key celebration.

The “Happier Than Ever” singer broke the news on her Twitter, ending speculation that she and Blackstock were eloping after calling off their original wedding plans.

Speaking to People about her simple marriage, Clarkson revealed that they are still laughing and happy in their space. Therefore, they didn’t need a reason to throw a big party. She confessed:

“Our whole life is a party.”

THEY ENJOYED HANGING OUT AT THE RANCH

Blackstock and Clarkson’s union felt like a heavenly marriage, and the couple couldn’t have been happier to welcome their two children. They welcomed daughter River Rose in June 2014 and son Remington “Remy” Alexander in April 2016.

After having their babies, their family – including children Blackstock, Seth and Savannah from a previous marriage – felt complete. They loved, more than anything, spending time in their cabin on his ranch in Montana.

Clarkson and her husband loved visiting the ranch because of its breathtaking scenery. She revealed that they both love open spaces because they grew up in the countryside and because they worked all the time, the ranch provided a well-deserved break from work and nature.

They were a typical happy couple who enjoyed spending time and making memories with their children. However, all that glitters isn’t gold, as would be apparent after the couple were quarantined together following the coronavirus pandemic.

Everyone around them thought they had the perfect wedding, but things seemed to have happened behind closed doors. Problems had plagued the now estranged couple for some time, but only came to light during quarantine.

Everyone was shocked when Clarkson filed court documents to end her nearly seven-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. A source close to Clarkson told Us Weekly:

“They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together made their issues worse to the point of no return. So she filed for divorce.”

A DIVORCE ON THE EDGE

While the pandemic may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, several insiders told Us Weekly that her talk show was a major contributor to her failed union.

The transition to Hollywood for his talk show and coaching “The Voice” greatly affected his marriage, as Blackstock preferred their quiet life in Nashville.

The couple finally separated in June 2020, with a messy divorce shortly after. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles County court ordered the “Stronger” singer to pay $150,000 a month in spousal support.

And even though the couple agreed on joint custody of the children, who would live with Clarkson in Los Angeles, the singer would also have to pay Blackstock $45,601 a month in child support.

Clarkson also wanted Blackstock kicked out of his Montana ranch. However, Blackstock said that in the midst of their battle, he did not have the financial means to buy a new home.

The judge sided with Blackstock and ruled in his favor, which meant that Blackstock could still live at the Montana Ranch, although Clarkson retained ownership of their two properties in Montana.

They finalized their divorce in March 2022, and the “Breakaway” singer couldn’t have been happier to finally end the turmoil. And although the couple had many problems, a source said:

“Clarkson didn’t expect the divorce to be so dramatic.”

BLACKSTOCK MOVES, AND CLARKSON CONTINUES

Blackstock finally left the Montana Ranch two years after the couple separated. Initially, Blackstock told the court that he wanted to leave the entertainment industry and was looking to become a full-time breeder.

He had said he needed the ranch for his business, but the judge ruled he would bear the costs of maintaining the ranch while the legal battle continued. The court then ruled that Blackstock could only stay on the farm until June 1, 2022.

Clarkson is glad he finally moved on because, as sources told Us Weekly, Blackstock is “always asking for more and is a constant thorn in his side.”

Even so, Blackstock will spend most of the summer in Montana and will still have unlimited access to the ranch. After the divorce became final, he left with their farm cattle, livestock, cattle dogs and horses, several vehicles, and a golf simulator, among many other items.

With her new status as a single woman, Clarkson seeks to put her turbulent recent past behind her and rebuild her life. She has joined the dating scene and is looking for a new love.

However, she barely finds the time to search as she juggles her busy schedule and co-parenting her two children with her ex-husband. Fortunately, her friends helped out and set her up for dates. A source told Us Weekly:

“Kelly has entered the dating world. She’s set up with friends and is ready to date again.”

The actress is now more focused on her career and is busier than ever. However, she hopes to move on and find her one true love, and we wish her nothing but the best.
