Mayim Bialik and Neil Patrick Harris didn’t speak to each other for a long time after being friends – what happened?

Most friendships don’t last, and the one between Mayim Bialik and Neil Patrick Harris was broken “for a long time” because of an incident that upset him.

When “Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik and “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris were teenagers, they were good friends. She even appeared on Harris’ hit TV series “Doogie Howser, MD,” and he had a small role in Bialik’s “Blossom.”

In 1997, a few years after Harris finished working in “Doogie Howser, MD,” he had a role in Jonathan Larson’s musical “Rent,” and one particular performance caused tension between him and Bialik.

Bialik told James Corden on his talk show that she doesn’t like musicals. Still, she and a friend went to one of the “Rent” shows. Harris’ performance as Mark Cohen was so impressive that everyone in the theater gave him a standing ovation.

The only person who didn’t stand up to applaud was Bialik. As if that weren’t enough, she told her friend, “I don’t want to put up with this.” When she turned back to the stage, she saw Harris looking her straight in the eye.

Bialik probably didn’t think it was serious enough to cause conflict between her and Harris, so she went backstage to say hello. Bialik was unaware that Harris read his lips.

As soon as he saw her, he asked, “Why did you say you weren’t going to get up?” She admitted it was a “terrible” moment, mostly because she didn’t have a good answer.

It wasn’t like Bialik didn’t appreciate Harris’ performance. She pointed out that her friend was “fantastic”, but standing ovations weren’t her “thing” at the time.

Harris was hurt and didn’t speak to the “Call Me Kat” actress for a long time. The ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ actor finally forgave Bialik, and when he learned she still felt guilty, he sent her flowers.

Bialik has made headlines again after testing positive for coronavirus.

Bialik’s story on the “Late Late Show with James Corden” got a lot of attention, but Harris didn’t understand why. He said it was a “strange call” for the producer of the talk show segment because Bialik had already told this story years ago.

Harris also answered questions from fans about the incident and their friendship the first time he made headlines, so he joked that it had to be a “slow news day” for their feud to pass. resurfaced.

Some people got upset about Bialik’s story and her thoughts on the musicals, but Harris backed her up by Tweeter that they had been friends for more than three decades and that his “aversion” to musicals wouldn’t change that.

In mid-June 2022, Bialik made headlines again after testing positive for coronavirus and sharing her experience. She said it was “no joke” as she felt so exhausted she couldn’t stay awake for long.

Bialik added that she has asthma and thyroid disease, which means the virus could compromise her immune system. On June 21, she said she already felt better but still suffered from congestion and felt tired and anxious about going out.

The actress is vaccinated and boosted, and she advises her followers to remain vigilant. Bialik also regrets taking off his mask and thinking everything was fine. We’re glad she and Harris made amends!
