Just two days after Tom Ford presented his latest collection for his eponymous brand, announcing his departure following the sale of the brand to Estée Lauder, Tom Ford (the brand) has unveiled the designer’s replacement, and it comes from the home interior. Peter Hawkings will take on the role of creative director from Tom Ford in a move that didn’t come as too much of a surprise – there were rumors that Hawkings would take the job following Ford’s departure. Hawkings, who most recently served as senior vice president of menswear Tom Ford, has worked alongside Ford for nearly twenty-five years.

Hawkings got his start in the industry in 1998, initially working under Ford on menswear collections at Gucci. In 2006, the designer left Gucci to join Ford in his eponymous brand, where he was appointed head of the brand’s men’s categories, a position he has held ever since. Upon her ascension to creative director, Hawkings will assume responsibilities for the brand’s womenswear, menswear and accessories categories. “In Peter Hawkings, the brand has found the perfect creative director,” Tom Ford said in a statement. “Peter started working with me 25 years ago as a menswear design assistant at Gucci and quickly rose through the ranks to become the company’s lead menswear designer when he left to join me. to the Tom Ford brand.” Ford went on to say, “Since the creation of Tom Ford menswear, Peter has been instrumental in the brand’s success. He is an incredibly talented leader with considerable industry experience, and his appointment gives me confidence that my commitment to creating fashion products with the highest level of design and quality will continue.

In addition to Hawkings, Guillaume Jesel was announced as the new president and CEO, replacing Domenico De Sole, who had held the position since the brand’s inception. Jesel has been running Tom Ford Beauty since 2014 and has helped make it the big brand it is today. Her appointment proves that the focus will be on the beauty side of operations at Tom Ford, which isn’t a surprising revelation, given that Estée Lauder bought the brand. The Ermenegildo Zegna Group, however, will own the fashion licenses of the Tom Ford brand and have named a CEO of Tom Ford Fashion, although that name is still secret, which is expected to be revealed in July when the new recruit takes on the role. .

Ford and De Sole will continue to serve as brand advisors until the end of the calendar year. Next, Ford will focus on its film production company, Fade to Black. The company has already produced two films written, produced and directed by the creator, that of 2009 A single manand 2016 Nocturnal animals. According to a press release, Ford has new projects in development with the company.
