Orlando Brown turned down record offer from Chiefs?

Orlando Brown will play the 2022 season under the franchise label after he and the Kansas City Chiefs failed to reach a long-term deal by the July 15 deadline. It wasn’t for lack of effort on the Chiefs’ part, however.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brown was offered a five-year, $139 million contract that would have made him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. The contract would have had a signing bonus of $30.25 million, but Schefter’s report did not include the amount of money guaranteed in the offer and the end of the deal could have made it look like the total money was misleading.
