Royal pardon for the benefit of 637 people

On the occasion of the commemoration of the presentation of the Manifesto of Independence, HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has kindly granted His grace to 637 people sentenced by various courts of the Kingdom, announces the Ministry of Justice in a press release.

Here is the text:

“On the occasion of the commemoration of the Presentation of the Manifesto of Independence, of this year 1443 H. – 2022 G.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God perpetuate His glory, has kindly granted His grace to a group of people convicted by various courts of the Kingdom. These people are 637 in number, and are as follows:

The beneficiaries of the royal pardon, who are in detention, number 500 detainees, breaking down as follows:

– Pardon on the remainder of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 22 detainees.

– Remission of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 473 detainees.

– Commutation of the life sentence to a time sentence for the benefit of (05) detainee.

The beneficiaries of the royal pardon who are free are 137 people, distributed as follows:

– Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for the benefit of 52 people.

– Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for the benefit of 05 people.

– Pardon on the fine sentence for the benefit of 77 people.

– Pardon on the prison sentence and fine for the benefit of 03 people.

May God keep His Majesty the King, source of clemency and mercy, perpetuate His glory and preserve His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and all members of the Royal Family”.
