Ryanair launches a new Ouarzazate-London air link

The Irish airline Ryanair contributed, on Tuesday, a new air link between Ouarzazate and London which will be activated at the rate of two weekly flights, as part of its summer 2023 program.

THE maiden flight of this new air service, carried out with a Boeing 737 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats, one landed at Ouarzazate airport from the capital of Great Britain.

The commander of Ouarzazate airport, Ahmed Sajib, stressed that this new air service reinforces the air links provided from this airport platform to international destinations on the European continent. The opening of this line is part of the strategy of Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and national and international airlines to raise the number of foreign tourists targeting Morocco, promote the tourism sector and take advantage of Morocco’s strategic geographical position, he said.

For his part, Said Amrani, vice-president of the Provincial Tourism Council (CPT) of Ouarzazate, spearheaded the efforts that led to the launch of this new airline, adding that this connection has undoubtedly contributed to boosting the tourism sector.

The ONMT had announced in February an extended program which concerns eight Moroccan tourist destinations, in order to accompany them to prepare well for the summer season. Thus, the ONMT has encouraged the opening of 35 new lines with 10 airlines for the 2023 summer season.
