Rylan Clark has sadly revealed that he tried to end his life after his marriage broke down last year.
The TV star, 33, said in his new book he felt he ‘couldn’t go on anymore’ after his ex-husband Dan Neal left him when Rylan told her he had cheated.
Rylan revealed he had been unfaithful to his former partner “years ago”, but once he came clean in May 2011, Dan told him their relationship was over and moved on after six years together.

In his new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, he writes of his post-separation mental health: “For the first time in 32 years, I felt like I couldn’t go on.
‘What’s the point?’ I thought. I had lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I had ever wanted. A man I loved. A family of mine. And now it was gone.
“So I tried to get it over with. I won’t go into details because I don’t think it’s fair to my mum, but thank God I failed.

He added that he told Dan he cheated on him: “I woke up one morning and decided to tell my ex that I cheated on him years ago. He left. He told me it was over and that was it.
It comes after Rylan revealed he was rushed to hospital twice after his “heart stopped” last year.
The star shared how the terrifying ordeal happened during the split from her husband Dan, 43.
Speaking at the launch of his new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, he said: “I didn’t just get sick mentally, I got sick physically.”

He had previously claimed to have fallen just nine stone, which led to him being hospitalized for “security reasons” after refusing food.
He told the audience in London’s Royal Festival Hall: “Twice in the last year I found myself in the back of an ambulance because my heart stopped.”
After the hospital run, he received an injection that helped his heart start beating more regularly.
He explained: “I just remember the gunshot and all of a sudden this feeling from the middle of your body, back and forth, almost takes over you, and you stop and my heart stops. “.
“There are only seven faces and this bright light is looking at me.” And then I caught my breath. And they were like, ‘He’s in a normal rhythm.

He went on to say that his family members were convinced he was only suffering from grief, but he was sure it was more serious.

“I knew it was wrong. It turned out that my heart needed to be restarted. I remember lying in ressus and I had all these pads with all these wires and I didn’t understand what it was.
He continued: “It was only afterwards that I said, ‘What were the pads for? And they said, ‘If you hadn’t caught your breath… because you would have had to be electrically restarted. You don’t even think about it when you’re there. So I didn’t just get mentally ill, I got physically ill.
It came after Rylan revealed his body had ‘shut down’ and his mum Linda was convinced he was having a stroke during his health issues.
The presenter admitted that he couldn’t even speak and had slurred speech while missing work.

Now appearing on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, the TV personality said: ‘My body has completely shut down. I wouldn’t eat. I went through a stage where I couldn’t even speak, which might be really handy for some people.
“My speech was just garbled. My mom thought I was having a stroke. My body is gone. I went down to 9th and am 6ft 4in.
An avid Eurovision fan, he has been a semi-final commentator since 2018, but his notable absence from the 2021 contest has raised red flags among friends.
Rylan continued, “Two days before I was supposed to do Eurovision, everyone knew that when I wasn’t at Eurovision, something was wrong.”
“If I had, I might not have experienced such a rapid decline. And when I say rapid decline, it lasted a few minutes. I felt like I had taken the hit and I was about to stop.
The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who says he hasn’t stopped working since appearing on The X Factor in 2012, has admitted he “needs” a break.
He said: ‘It was hard but on reflection, yes, I needed to quit. It was maybe a 10-year merger. I haven’t stopped since the day I went on The X Factor.
‘Nothing has stopped. I don’t regret quitting. I think if I try to continue, maybe I could have handled things better from a personal point of view. I don’t regret quitting.
