The sale of Selfridges Group was announced last December and will see Central Group and sign the distribution group as part of a 50/50 partnership.
Central and Sign will manage the Selfridges Group portfolio, which includes 18 department stores, including Selfridges in London, Manchester and Birmingham, from Bijenkorf to the Netherlands and Brown Thomas and Arnotts in Ireland. It will also manage the electronic commerce platforms and the associated properties of the group in London, Manchester and five sites in Ireland.
Stefano della Valle, managing director of the central and sign luxury stores group in Europe, will lead the Selfridges group as part of its enlarged role.
Anne Pitcher, current chief executive of The Selfridges Group, will remain on the company’s management team until the end of the year.
TOS Chirathivat, Executive President and Managing Director of Central Group, and Dieter Berninghaus, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sign Holding will be the group’s new co -chairs.
