Sunshine Coast’s Amber Stokes dies aged 46

A fit and healthy mother-of-two suddenly collapsed and died aged just 46.

Amber Stokes, from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, went for a run on Tuesday before coming home and lying on her bed.

Her partner Andy Kinden found Ms Stokes passed out on the bed and called for help, but paramedics were unable to save her, the Sunshine Coast Daily reported.

Ms Stokes was the secretary of Woombye Snakes Football Club and was a much-loved figure in the football community.

Mr Kinden, who is chairman of the club and who had been with Ms Stokes for nine months but had known her for much longer, said she was a ‘lovely person’.

“She’s everyone’s friend, so kind and always with a smile on her face,” he said.

He said he would treasure his memories of her, including their last weekend together to celebrate her birthday with their loved ones.

Tributes poured in for Ms Stokes and a GoFundMe was set up to raise money for her children.

Friend Leisa Webbe said her companion’s sudden death would be “felt from afar”.

She said Ms Stokes was a ‘beautiful soul’ with a ‘beautiful family’.
