The best flats and low heels from Nordstrom, Mango and Zara

When it comes to my everyday shoes, I’ve always preferred flats or low heels. Not that I have anything against high heels, but considering I’m a California born and raised girl, the ease and comfort of a flat or low heel just seems fine with me at a fundamental level. High heels, IMHO, are to be reserved for special occasions or a night when I’m feeling extra flirty. The many stylish flat offerings and the resurgence of the kitten heel in recent years (I’m looking at you Manolo Maysales) have only helped my case.

On top of that, straight flats or low heels have a kind of understated elegance that is hard to compete with a higher heel. I will never forget seeing a woman walk into a wedding in a long, breezy dress with simple sandals on her feet and thinking she was by far the classiest person in the room. Suffice it to say, I’ve been doing a lot of research lately on the best flats and low heels out there. My biggest problem? Putting a cap on my finds, which Nordstrom, Zara and Mango don’t help with. They really killed it with their selection of flats and low heels, so I’ve rounded up my top 30 picks below, just for you, dear reader.
