The Sugababes are “at the center of a record label bidding war”, according to The Sun.

The publication reports that record label executives are keen to sign the girls for new music after the group elated fans after reuniting and embarking on a comeback tour.

A source said, “There’s a lot of 90s and 2000s acts coming together and it’s kind of cheesy and full of nostalgia, but the original Sugababes are actually cool, believable artists.”

“They really impressed people from the big labels this year with their vocals.

“The fan reaction proves that they really are a viable band to have huge success with new music.”

The insider added that the girls could be signed to a new label in the coming weeks and release new music next year.

The 90s hitmakers, starring Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, recently reunited, much to the delight of fans.

The band admitted earlier this month that nearly 25 years after they formed the band and 11 years after getting back together, they are more relaxed this time around, joking that ‘nobody’s cracking the whip anymore’ .

The trio added that they had been “blown away” by the fan support – after their performance at Glastonbury in the summer, fans were swarming.

Keisha said on Good Morning Britain: ‘We control what we do, we’re older now. When you get older you can kind of appreciate what’s out there more and deal with the business side, we’re just having fun”.

The trio originally formed in 1998, but went through many line-up changes over the years, with the three original members eventually being replaced.

Siobhan left in 2001 and was replaced by Heidi Range, Mutya left in 2005 and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah and Keisha was replaced by Jade Ewan when she left in 2009.

The replacement members stopped making music in 2011.

But back to the Sugababes now; Mutya, Keisha and Siobhán took to the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury earlier this year, wowing fans as they performed classics such as Round Round.

And the performance was such a success that festival security was forced to shut down the grounds due to massive crowds gathering to watch.

Recalling the performance, they told Ben and Kate: ‘Before we went on we were told it would be like a 3000 capacity and then when we walked in they were like we had to close the pitch, there has too many people.

“We couldn’t believe it, it was amazing,” they explained.

MailOnline has contacted a representative of the Sugababes to comment on this article.
