These 24 wardrobe must-haves dominate our editors’ fall looks

For fashion editors, there’s no more emotionally fulfilling seasonal task than preparing for the arrival of fall. (There’s a reason September issues are so heavy.) In an effort to speed up the process this time around — the clock is really ticking here — I tapped on two of Who’s best fall dressers. What Wear for tips on putting together a handful of outfit formulas that you can rely on all season long. And as expected, they did not disappoint. The six looks they’ve created revolve around some of the hottest pieces of the new season, from a great pair of wide leg jeans to the chunky loafers I’ve already added to my cart.

Read on to see editors Anneliese Dominguez and Judith Jones ready for fall. Better yet, you can pick them all up in one online shopping trip, courtesy of Anthropologie, our go-to source for stylish yet effortless dressing all year round.

Jeans are the one item Anneliese turns to again and again, no matter the season. “If you peek into my closet, you’d be surprised how many pairs I have there,” says the self-proclaimed denim addict. “But listen, can you blame me? There are so many different styling options! This is my first pair of Good American flare jeans, and I have to admit, I’m a fan. Even though they’re denim, they’re a little dressier than my average pair of straight legs, so I paired them with this silky Hutch Nyla Wrap blouse for the perfect, elevated feel.

Secondly, this very cool, very Californian look, with a retro touch. “If you were to look up ‘Anneliese Dominguez’ in the dictionary, you’d probably find a photo of me in this ‘shape’, or at least an iteration of it,” Anneliese shares. “It’s classic but perfectly in tune with the times, if I may say so myself. This season, my layer of choice has to be anything with a buttery leather feel. I’m obsessed with blazers, motorcycles and bombers. This one is exceptionally fun with its cool cedar hue. It adds that extra punch that a black or cream blazer wouldn’t have.

Last but not least comes that elevated look that just screams. “I absolutely loved chocolate brown this season, so I was so excited to find these Sam Edelman loafers,” Anneliese said. “Not only are they fashionable with their big heel, but they are also ultra comfortable. I styled them with these wide leg plaid pants and a fitted sleeveless vest (both from Hutch). It’s one of those looks that looks put together (blazers just do that, don’t they?) but, in reality, it’s really easy.

Judith says this laid-back, French girl-approved look matches her aesthetic at the T. “Denim is a staple of my fall wardrobe, and I styled a wide-leg silhouette of the Good American moment with a crisp white shirt, chic camel jacket and brown suede boots,” explains- she. “I finished the look with a trendy pearl and gold necklace, modern gold hoop earrings and a soft leather bag, perfect for carrying all my fall essentials. All in all, it’s classic, elevated and so versatile for everything from work to evening drinks.

This sophisticated and versatile look embodies casual elegance that’s perfect for day or night. “There’s nothing more chic than a beige blazer paired with black wide leg pants and sleek black suede boots,” says Judith. “Bold gold earrings and a trendy woven shoulder bag complete the look.”

All black look is perfect for a night out where you want to look laid back yet cool and feel like you’ve put in the effort, says Judith. “I love a nice pair of loafers, and this chunky pair is both trendy and fun,” she adds. “I’ve worn them with a black miniskirt – an item I’ve been wearing a lot lately – a black cowl neck top and a trendy leather jacket.”
