TikTok’s latest Lip Craze is so easy to recreate

Did he cheat on you? Nope, TikTok’s latest super sultry lipstick trend will save you. You’ve probably come across plenty of lip highlighting tricks via TikTok, whether it’s Mario Dedanovick’s lip lift technique, pinching lips to line edges, or oval liner. The new lip liner hack, “siren lips”, is completely different and the result is incredibly seductive.

“Mermaid lips” is similar to “mermaid eyes,” another TikTok makeup trend that’s going viral right now. “Mermaid eyes” are basically a smoky cat eye that gives the eyes an elongated effect. “Mermaid’s Lips” also plays on this concept. The basic idea is simple: highlight your lips as usual, using a lip liner slightly darker than your lipstick color, and extend the contour line a little beyond where your natural lips end. Think “the Joker” but make it sexy.

Since this lip trend is going to be everywhere, I had to try it out for myself. I was afraid of looking cartoonish or literally trying to look like the “Joker”. In fact, this slight extension on my lips made me look like I was smiling slightly without really trying – and I will definitely try again.
