Tunisian union approves two-day strike by transport workers

TUNIS, December 28 (Reuters)Tunisia’s powerful UGTT union on Wednesday approved a two-day strike by air, land and sea transport workers on January 25-26, to protest what it called “the government’s marginalization of public enterprises”.

The strike will mount pressure on the government of President Kais Saied, which faces growing opposition 17 months after seizing executive power in a move his opponents have described as a coup.
