Add a table

NEW YORK, August 18 (Reuters)The United States generated fewer renewable fuel blending credits in July compared to the previous month, according to data from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shown Thursday.

About 1.21 billion ethanol blend credits (D6) were generated in July, compared to 1.29 billion in June, the data showed.

About 421 million biodiesel blend credits (D4) were generated in July, compared to 491 million the previous month.

The credits are used by petroleum refiners and importers to show compliance with EPA-mandated ethanol blending quotas for petroleum-based fuels. They are generated with every gallon of biofuel produced.

Here is a table of credit generation for the month of July by type of credit.
