After a rainy Friday, the weekend could bring more showers and thunderstorms, although it shouldn’t be a complete washout.
The rain is expected to clear the region by Saturday morning, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the 80s for most of the region.
Saturday night could see the return of a shower or isolated thunderstorm, with chances remaining farther south — likely south and east of Interstate 55, according to forecast models and the National Weather Service.
There could be another chance of showers and thunderstorms scattered across the region on Sunday morning, with the best chance of rain once again concentrating on the southern suburbs of the city.
Highs should be a little cooler to wrap up the weekend, reaching the upper 70s or lower 80s.
By Monday, most of the region should finally dry out, but temperatures are expected to climb rapidly to the mid-80s. Wet conditions are also possible for much of the region under sunny skies.
Tuesday could be even warmer, with highs reaching the 90s.
