“The Deuce” takes fourth place on our list. The TV series ran from 2017 to 2019 and had a star-studded cast including James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Lawrence Gilliard Jr. The story is set in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s and tells the story of legalization and the rise of the adult film industry.

Number three is “Ruby Sparks,” the 2012 film where Kazan worked alongside longtime partner Paul Dano. It follows the life of a struggling novelist who writes about a woman he thinks will love him, but who somehow comes to life. More on “Ruby Sparks” later.

Second place is for the 2014 miniseries “Olive Kitteridge”. Starring Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins, the Emmy-winning show follows a college math professor and her 25-year marriage to her husband.

Speaking of fantastic love stories, Kazan has one with Paul Dano.

The sick man

tops our list of the 6 best Zoe Kazan movies and TV shows. Starring Kazan, Kumail Nanjiani, Holly Hunter and Ray Romano, the romantic comedy film is loosely based on Nanjiani’s real-life relationship with his wife. , Emily V. Gordon.

Shortly after Nanjiani and Gordon (the film’s writers) began dating, she was put into a medically induced coma and diagnosed with a rare systemic autoinflammatory disorder called Still’s disease.

During those terrible days, Nanjiani realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Gordon (played by Kazan in “The Big Sick”). They married a few months after Gordon’s awakening in 2007.

Speaking of fantastic romances, Kazan has one with Paul Dano, his “Ruby Sparks” co-star. She wrote this film script out of a sense of creative compulsion rather than a desire to showcase her abilities.

After reading the description of the main character, Dano believed it was him and asked if the script was for them. Kazan said yes, but she hadn’t really thought about it until he mentioned it.

Kazan and Dano met while rehearsing for the 2007 play “Things We Want”. They are keeping most of the details of their romance under wraps and secretly became parents in 2018. What a talented couple.
